🤖 SoftBank Seeks $100B for AI Chip Venture
SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son is fundraising $100 billion for a new venture called Izanagi, aimed at competing with Nvidia in the AI chip market.
The venture would collaborate with SoftBank's chip design company, Arm, and plans to tap Middle East-based investors for $70 billion of the funding.
OpenAI chief Sam Altman is also reportedly in talks to raise trillions for a separate AI chip project
💰 GlobalFoundries Awarded $1.5B Grant to Manufacturer Semiconductor
The US government has granted $1.5 billion to GlobalFoundries, the largest domestic semiconductor manufacturer, to build a new production facility in Malta, NY, and expand operations in Burlington, VT.
The grant will be accompanied by $1.6 billion in loans, with the funding expected to generate $12.5 billion in overall potential investment.
The move aims to bolster domestic chip production and enhance national security.

🎙️ AI Voice Company Unveils Natural Performance Technology
WellSaid Labs has introduced a new technology called HINTS (Highly Intuitive Naturally Tailored Speech) that allows users to shape AI voices with contextual annotations, such as tempo and loudness adjustments.
Unlike current methods, HINTS enables fine-grained and layered adjustments, offering more creative possibilities for voice-based content.
The technology also emphasizes ethical practices, obtaining consent from voice donors and protecting privacy.
