π± BeFake: A Social Media App for Digital Self-Expression
Alias Technologies, founded by former Machine Zone CEO Kristen Garcia Dumont, has launched BeFake, a social media app that allows users to unleash their imagination and express themselves through AI-generated visuals.
The app, available on both the App Store and Google Play, aims to provide a refreshing alternative to traditional social media platforms by encouraging users to explore their creativity and authenticity beyond physical boundaries.
Dumont believes that BeFake represents a revolution in how we interact with social media and showcases the growing presence of AI in our social circles.

π Sakana AI: Building AI Models Inspired by Nature
Former Google AI luminaries, Llion Jones and David Ha, have founded Sakana AI, a new research lab in Tokyo, Japan, with the goal of developing AI models based on principles observed in nature.
They aim to create more flexible and adaptable AI models that can coordinate and work together, similar to schools of fish or flocks of birds, rather than relying on massive, centralized models.
Sakana AI's unconventional choice to locate in Tokyo reflects their belief in the advantages offered by the city.
