🖥️ Anthropic Launches Claude 3.5 Sonnet with Desktop Capabilities
Last spring, Anthropic pitched a "next-gen algorithm for AI self-teaching." Now, Anthropic has revealed an upgraded version of the Claude 3.5 Sonnet model with a new computer use feature that allows it to interact with desktop applications by mimicking user actions, including keystrokes and mouse clicks. This allows Claude to automate tasks across any desktop app by interpreting screenshots and executing commands based on user-given prompts.
Introducing an upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and a new model, Claude 3.5 Haiku. We’re also introducing a new capability in beta: computer use.
Developers can now direct Claude to use computers the way people do—by looking at a screen, moving a cursor, clicking, and typing text.

🛡️ Socket Raises $40M to Secure Open Source Software Supply Chains
Socket, a startup focused on finding vulnerabilities in open source code, has raised $40 million to enhance software supply chain security to address concerns over outdated tools and software supply chain attacks. Socket's scanning tool identifies malicious activity in open source dependencies and integrates with AI APIs to summarize vulnerabilities effectively. As reliance on open source software increases, the need for more robust security solutions becomes critical for protecting organizations from costly and damaging supply chain attacks.
🚀 We’re thrilled to announce Socket’s $40M Series B led by @AbstractVC with participation from @eladgil and @a16z!
