Google and Priceline are pairing up this summer to bring AI to the online travel industry in a big way. The technology - think of it as your personal travel concierge - will offer custom-tailored hotel suggestions and more sophisticated trip-planning via chatbot. Here's how it will work:

Using Google's generative AI tech (like what powers ChatGPT), Priceline's chatbot will create human-like text, providing users with personalized travel suggestions.

The AI will pull from a wealth of data, including existing hotel prices, to ensure the most accurate recommendations.

Furthermore, this AI will even generate coding suggestions for Priceline's software developers and boost marketing for popular destinations.

This strategic partnership not only helps Priceline compete in a market saturated with travel platforms but also pushes Google forward in its quest to close the gap with cloud service giants like Amazon and Microsoft. While we may not have teleportation just yet, AI is certainly simplifying the travel planning process.

🏦 Chatbots in Banks: A Double-Edged Sword?

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) highlights growing concerns over the use of chatbots by financial institutions.

Despite their intent to streamline customer service, chatbots often lead to user frustration and legal risks.

Last year, 37% of the US population interacted with bank chatbots, a figure set to increase.

The CFPB urges careful chatbot deployment to uphold customer trust and legal standards, and actively encourages customers to report any issues.
